Water Heritage

The project’s concept lies in the identification of water with the cultural heritage asset to which it is related in our region (MARCHE ITALY), to be preserved and enhanced in its kaleidoscopic aspects, ranging from the traditional artefacts with which water is associated, to agricultural produce and innovative farming uses.

Water heritage in our region reflects the way rural and urban people have always coped with this precious element and how local people have arranged their daily life around water management.

Today, most of this heritage has been restored and valorised, but much more should be done, especially by our public authorities and institutions. This section includes all those structures, architectural artefacts, natural attractions and products promoting wise water preservation and heritage valorisation.
