Water & Agriculture
Agriculture is one of the major users of water resources and seriously contributes to water pollution from excess nutrients, pesticides and all other chemicals.
Agriculture’s impact on water systems is very high, in fact farming accounts for about 70% of water used in the world today.
Unfortunately we all know that the demand for water is constantly increasing and the cost of water pollution can become very high for every country.
Therefore agricultural sustainable management of water is of paramount importance, as well as reducing water pollution and waste in order to increase farming yields, but at the same time maintain the environmental and social benefits granted by water.
For all these reasons we have tried to reflect on the sustainable use of water in agriculture, but also in food production and consumption granting a better future for ourselves and others.
